In-Person Scholastic Book Fair We are excited to invite you to our in-person Scholastic Book Fair on Friday, May 20 from 5:00 - 7:30 PM in the outside in the undercovered area. We encourage everyone to wear a mask and to stay home if you are sick. 😷 Whether your student wants to build a home library, stock up for summer reading or just get lost in a good book, this is the perfect event where students can shop a wide variety of books offered by Scholastic. All proceeds benefit the Discovery PTSA and are reinvested back into Discovery. This is not a drop-off event. Adult supervision is required for entry. Sign up to volunteer HERE. STEM Fair We are so excited to host an in-person STEM Fair for Discovery Elementary students and families this year on Wednesday, June 1, 2022! Tickets are free, but required for entry. Reserve tickets for one of the following timeslots: Session # 1: 5:00 - 6:15 PM Session # 2: 6:30 - 7:45 PM Families are welcome to attend either session, but not both. 5th Grade Party & Promotion! The Discovery 5th Grade Party Planning Committee has put together an amazing night of fun for our hardworking 5th graders. 🎉 Mark your calendars for Friday, June 3 from 5:30 - 8:30 PM at Discovery. This is for 5th graders ONLY. All 5th graders receive admission to the event. The evening will include: a Pizza Dinner 🍕 - Movie Screening 🎥 - Fresh, Movie-Style Popcorn 🍿 - Candy, Snacks & Drinks 🍬 - Raffle Prizes & Games 🏆 - Photo Booth Souvenir 📸 - Movie-Themed Decorations 🎬! Sign Up for the Math Challenge This year the Discovery PTSA is sponsoring the Math Challenge hosted by Math in Action. Math Challenge is an enrichment program open to all Discovery Elementary students. All students K to Grade 5 are invited to participate. There will be 14 challenges throughout the school year; each set is published every other week starting in late September or early October and ending in May. Each challenge presents 10 to 18 problems ordered by level of difficulties. |
