Volunteer of the Month

March 2020

They say it takes a village, and volunteers are our village! Volunteers give so much of their time to Discovery, helping make sure our kids have the best school experience possible. While we can never fully repay our volunteers for all they do, we’ll be selecting a “Volunteer of the Month” to give them much-deserved recognition. When you see a volunteer at school, be sure to thank them!

POOJA TEJANI

If you’ve spent any amount of time at Discovery, chances are you’ve run into Pooja. From volunteering every Tuesday in the library, to being a word list parent for Ms. Garl’s class, Pooja’s contributions make her a familiar face and fixture at school. When not doing her weekly scheduled volunteering, you can find Pooja doing one-off opportunities, like lunchroom helper, Eager Reader, and even chaperoning on field trips.

Get to know a little more about Pooja

Family Ties to Discovery:

Pooja’s son, Aditya, is in 1st Grade in Ms. Garl’s class.

Why Pooja volunteers:

Watching her son learn and grow at school is all the motivation Pooja needs to volunteer. The smiles from all of the kids are icing on the cake.

Fun fact:

When not at Discovery volunteering, Pooja can be found outdoors: she loves riding her bicycle and tending her vegetable patch with her son.

Thank you Pooja for everything you do for Discovery!
