Discovery Spelling Bee Results

Please join us in congratulating our grade level top spellers and the 2020 Discovery Elementary School Champion, Krithik V!

Krithik will be representing Discovery in the Regional Spelling Bee competition on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Town Hall Seattle. We wish him all the best!

It was a tough competition. We are so proud of our little spellers who worked hard and showed a lot of determination and skill.

The top spellers by grade are:

  • 1st Grade: Suvas D.
  • 2nd Grade: Agam S.
  • 3rd Grade: Lahari G.
  • 4th Grade: Ashank M.
  • 5th Grade (Tie): Krithik V. and Daanish S.

Thank you for the tremendous interest and support shown for this program.

Mark Your Calendars for the Talent Show

Save the date for Friday, March 27 when Discovery and your PTSA will be holding our annual Talent Show!

Does your student:

  • Juggle?
  • Do magic tricks?
  • Dance?
  • Sing?
  • Play an instrument?
  • None of these but they still have some amazing talent that the world needs to see?

No matter their talent, we encourage all students to audition! Registration for auditions opens up on February 24 with auditions the following week on March 3. All students in all grades are welcomed to audition and show us their unique talent or skill.

Stay tuned for more information!

Volunteer of the Month

February’s Volunteer of the Month is Joanne Sousan. If you’ve seen (or smelled!) the popcorn machine running at Discovery, chances are you’ve seen Joanne. But her contributions to our school extend far beyond popcorn...from helping with the art docent program to assisting as room parent, a classroom helper, and making sure our staff feels the love during Staff Appreciation week, Joanne dabbles in everything. She also works to encourage other grandparents and parents to volunteer.

Please click here to learn a little bit more about Joanne.
